Blog Challenge Day 9: Tell a story.

Hey there!
Wow, I am pretty tired but I don't want to lose momentum on my blog. Sundays are normally pretty exhausting for me! My husband and I have to get up early for church for worship practice and then we normally do something afterward. Today we went out to eat with some friends and saw a movie. We finally got home and now I am ready for a nap! I love naps but who doesn't? Any way, I guess I am suppose to tell you a story so I will tell you one that I have experienced.

His proposal: August 8th 2010
Let me just start by telling you about The Box. The week before he proposed, David gave me a large box full of 7 little boxes that I had to open everyday that week. Every little box was full of little gifts and trinkets that pertained to our relationship. Some of the boxes were based on purity, being child like, struggles, etc. Finally on the last day, David told to be ready by 4am so he can take me to watch the sunrise and to bring the last box with me which was locked. That morning I woke up early, got dressed, and then David showed up and threw a pebble at my window. I looked out and he was sitting on the hood of my dads truck with his guitar and sang a song he wrote for me. The next thing I know he's climbing up a ladder to my window with sunflowers in his hand(which was my favorite flower). He comes up to help me down from my window and then off we went to the mountains to watch the sunrise. Once we arrived in Boulder we parked the car and hiked up the mountain to find the perfect spot and got settled. Just as the sun rose David pulled out the key to my locked box, opened it, and pulled out a journal and a ring. At that moment he asks me "Alicia, I want to be single together with you forever, will you marry me?" Guess what I said? "YES!!!" I squeeled and screamed and I couldn't stop smiling! I finally calmed down and he pulled out the journal that was also in the locked box and handed it to me to read. David had kept a "wife journal" and since I was the one who was going to be his wife, he proudly gave me that little book full of love letters. We read a few together and our hearts exploded. Since it was still early in the day we went to the Dushanbe Tea House for some tea and brunch and then saw a movie! After the movie we headed home and once we got there I was surprised by a house full of family who were ready to celebrate our engagement. We shared our story, heard David's song that he wrote for me once again, ate some cake, and were covered in prayer. It was one of the best days of my life and I am so grateful for my wonderful romantic husband! I am one lucky girl!

First of all, this is when David sat down with my parents and I to ask to be my boyfriend.
