Bahamas Baby

The Bahamas has always been a place that I've wanted to go so when David and I got the chance  to cruise to the Bahamas, we totally took it. Back in February, David's siblings were in town and while we were hanging out with his brother Joe and wife Megan, they invited us to go on a cruise with them the first week in May. Because we love travel and it's something really important to us, David and I have a travel budget that we put money in to every month so luckily we had the money for the cruise and booked it the next day and I must say, it was worth it!
We flew to Florida, hung out for a few hours, and then docked the ship (we cruised with Norwegian Cruise line). We got settled into our room, got in our suits, and began our vacation sitting on the deck reading our books. By the next morning we had docked at the first island called Grand Bahama Island. It was pretty rainy that day but we decided to still hang out and get in the water. We invented our own water aerobics game, got to Kayak, and met some really cool people. We had a blast!
The second day we docked at the cruise ships private island called Great Stirrup Cay. This was my favorite day by far! The water was beautiful, the sun was hot, and we found our own private cove. All I did all day was sit and read Redeeming Love. Literally. I did have a few breaks where we ate, swam, and searched for sea shells. It was p.e.r.f.e.c.t!

The last day of the cruise we docked at the capital island called Nassau. We spent the day at Paradise Island Public Beach and then walked around some cute shops in the Marina Village at Atlantis. The water was crystal clear, the sun was hot, but the beach was packed. We still had a blast swimming in the water and the sand there was SUPER soft. The Marina Village was another favorite part of mine. The shops were all painted perfectly and it all the yachts in the Marina were beautiful!

The last day of our trip was spent in Florida. It was Megan's actual birthday and she picked some spots that she wanted to go for her birthday so we got off the boat and the first place we stopped was the Wynwood Walls. This place was A-MA-ZING! There was art on every building and we got to go in the coolest shops and boutiques including Wynwood Letterpress, Mmmm, Frangipani. After spending time there Megan's next choice was the Raleigh Hotel. It is known for it's art deco vibe and boy was it perfect! We loved every minute!

So that was it. We had such a good time and loved getting to spend time with Joe and Megan! They're pretty much our best friends so it was a dream come true to get to vacation with them AND, to hang out with them in the Bahamas, was the best thing ever!
