Hello there!
Hope your morning is going well! Mine is very uneventful but warm. I like the feeling of having lots of layers on and being cozy but I prefer warmth outside with shorts and a tank top or a summer dress. I don't have to wear so much clothes and I don't have to feel like I'm being swallowed up by my jackets. Lol Anyway, excuse my random thoughts but on another note, yesterday I had a moment of pure eventfulness! I was driving home and my passenger side front window EXPLODED! Now, I have had tape on it for a month because it kept falling down and wouldn't stay rolled up but I'm not sure how that would cause self combustion. Not quite sure but it scared the crap out of me. I was on the highway when it happened and thought I got T-Boned because it was so loud but nope, my window just exploded into a gazillion pieces and fell. It was terrifying!
Now that I've finished blabbing, this is what I would say to my 16yr old self.
Dear Alicia,
Enjoy being a kid. I know you're generally child-like already but soak in the moments of fun and laughter because being an adult is hard. Make sure to record all of your favorite moments because you will forget them over time. Cherish your parents and listen to them because they are always right. They do know better than you! Work on walking in the fruit of the Spirit now because you'll avoid much struggle in your marriage to come. Give your life completely for Jesus! Be zealous, run hard after God, and get into your Word as much as you can. Don't waste time on carnal things because you'll forget about them or regret them! Make more time to do art because when you grow up, time is limited. Continue to save money as best as you can but work on budgeting so that you know how to deal with your money properly. Forget about all your crushes and be confident in the fact that you have an AMAZING husband coming for you! He is worth all of your love so don't waste it on anyone else! Pray for all of your family because they will be going through some REALLY hard stuff in the next 7yrs! Make sure to spend time with your cousins as much as possible. Get to know them and love on them because one of them won't be here very much longer. I know you have no idea what you want to go to college for right now and you won't for a long time but start dabbling into photography, videography, and all kinds of design. You'll wish you did because it's something you really enjoy and yes, you can get a good job with that degree. Get involved in as much stuff as you can! Learn more instruments, learn a new language, take singing lessons, play more sports, learn new tricks on the trampoline, practice writing more, read more books, take art classes, take dance classes, learn to garden, go on more missions trips and take advantage of all them because you'll regret not doing those things when you had the chance! Just have fun and don't take life so seriously. Learn as much as you can from every situation. Learn to love yourself and be confident in who the Lord says you are. Practice communication as best as you can because you'll struggle with that when you're older. If you do all of these things you will be so glad that you did!
Love,
Yourself
