Here is a little update from Africa! There has been so much going on and all of it has been so awesome! The other day we were able to do village evangelism, which was a really sweet experience! We went to the houses of the locals and prayed for them and gave them a bag of flour and all of them were so thankful. It was really neat to see their mud houses and go inside.
We also had the chance to go to the jungle and see a few wild monkeys. It was so beautiful and yet kind of scary! There was a moment where our feet got covered and attacked by safari ants (aka army ants). They pinch so it was really painful as well as very creepy! Even though we had to go through that hellacious experience, it paid off by catching a few glimpses of monkeys.
On top of all that, we were able to go to the market with Joe and Megan to buy fleeces for all of the children and then back to the orphanage to hand them out. The kids were so dang excited that they could hardly wait in line to get theirs. They have been so delightful and such a joy to be around and every single one has stolen my heart.
Then today Joe took us to the local hospital (Meggie was sick) to hand out the baby blankets that were donated by so many sweet families and mothers in the states. There was a clinic going on for mothers with new babies to teach them about health and also to get their babies eyes checked. The mothers were so grateful for the blankets and we also were able to save some for mothers that might come in and not have a blanket to bring their babies home in. I loved being there because the babies were SOOOO STINKING CUTE I COULD DIE!!!!
Anyway, that's my little update! Please enjoy the photos. :-)
