Day 6 on the blog: What is the hardest thing you have ever experienced?

Welcome!
I hope you've had a fantastic morning so far! Today is day 6 of The 30 Day Blog Challenge! The question for today is What is the hardest thing you have ever experienced?

This question is kind of hard for me. There are a few hard things that come to mind such as deaths, disappointments, and failures but growing up I didn't have very many hardships to walk through. Aside from some really personal hard stuff that I don't want to share on the internet, I don't really know what the hardest thing I've experienced was EXCEPT.....are you ready for this? Don't make fun of me because this was genuinely a really hard thing to walk through; especially as a pre-teen BUT, one of the hardest things I've had to experience (that I can remember and that I am still traumatized by) is putting my dog down after getting hit by a car.
I had a cute little Toy Poodle named Daisy who got out of our yard one day and got run over by a car. The car crushed my little dogs pelvis and cut open her stomach so Daisy was in bad shape. The lady who ran her over took her to the vet immediately and later I found out that the woman who ran over Daisy was my teacher. My family and I went to the vet right after school to see how she was doing. They did X-Rays and said that she would need major surgery from a specialist. My family and I took Daisy to the specialist that same night to see what it would cost and boy were we in for a surprise! It would cost a good couple thousand dollars and there would be no guarantee of Daisy fully healing so my parents made the decision to put Daisy down. My brother and I were so heart broken. We loved our little Daisy so much that it hurt. Then the worst part was the Vet brought in the needle with the "sleeping" medicine and we decided not to watch so we left. As we were walking out we looked back at poor Daisy and we saw her try to get up to follow us out. She wasn't in pain from all the meds but she couldn't move her back legs. I will never forget seeing her struggle and I will always regret not staying with my little Daisy as she fell asleep! It breaks my heart till this day to think about her there all alone and afraid wondering where we are going. That was truly one of the hardest things I have experienced; especially because I am the biggest animal lover on the planet!

This isn't our Daisy but this is exactly what she looked like!

Anyway, what is the hardest thing you've ever experienced?

  1. I do remember this sad day vividly as well :( Departing from our little furry freinds is hard! I think departing, or separating, or saying some form of Goodbye in general is difficult and is one of the hardest things anyone can experience! I hope Jesus heals your deepest heartache from this traumatizing situation. I love you, and Im sorry I chose to leave the room. It was very very difficult for the rest of us too xoxo

    1. Thanks mom! I don't blame you for choosing to leave. I think in the moment I was too scared to stay any way but I believe the Lord will heal me someday! :-)
